my monster from the slab began to arise . . .
Yeah, yeah, I know . . . long time no blog. But I have been busy with THIS:

Turns out there's quite a bit to do even after the final, final manuscript has been submitted. My thanks to Parlor Press and David Blakesley for being 21st-Century-enough to release the book with a Creative Commons license. What this means, in practical terms, is that the text can circulate in electronic form — indeed, you're welcome to download it right from Parlor's website. Of course, Parlor will be encouraged to do this kind of thing more often if people actually buy the sucker from time to time, too. That said, I'm relieved to know that impoverished students will not be forced to choose between my putative wisdom and next week's ramen noodles.

Dear Professor Logie,
Congratulations on your book, and congratulations for the Creative Commons license, so we Grad students can study it immediately.
Best wishes,
